Child Protective Services:

Investigations of physical, sexual, or emotional child abuse or neglect referrals as mandated by state law to assess the safety of the child. All reporter information is confidential and reporters may be anonymous. Family based services are provided to preserve the family as a unit. To report suspected abuse call 776-4800 and ask to speak to the Access Worker or e-mail the information to info@lchsd.org



Court Services for Juveniles:

Provides mandated services for the court in assessment, case planning, and case management in delinquency cases and for children in need of protection and services. Services are directed toward ensuring public safety, holding juveniles accountable for their behavior, addressing family issues, and preserving the family as a unit.



Foster Care Program:

The Foster Care Coordinator recruits foster homes for the children of Lafayette County. The foster homes are then licensed according to State requirements. Training is provided to the foster families. The Foster Care Coordinator works with the case manager to match children to the foster home and provides aid and support to the foster family as they care for the foster child. If you are interested in becoming a foster parent, contact the Foster Care Coordinator for an informational packet. Placements may also occur in Group Homes, Child Caring Institutions, or a Juvenile Correctional Institution if appropriate.



Skill Based Services:

Services provided to increase the skill levels of parents and adolescents so that they are better able to perform daily living tasks and utilize community resources. Services involve teaching such skills as budgeting, home management, child development, parenting, independent living and employment skills.
